1- The dealer isn't lying. You should have seen Lisa shivering when she was standing in a 15 fot 4 inch deep snowfield on Mt Rainier this past spring. When I lived on the Washington/Idaho border, I'd ride year round in a denim jacket and ROTC issue lightweight work gloves. You either can handle the cold or you can't, everyone is different. Since the USN sentenced me to the great state of "Missiswampy" in 1995, my tolerance for the cold has dropped as well. I used to be able to go outside, in 30 degree weather, in shorts. Now 50 degrees is enough to make me want to stay in bed.
2- The BMW suit is higher quality, but not by much.
3- Try the rainsuit trick, you'll be amazed at the difference just from the wind resistance standpoint.
4- I thought you were deep in the heart of Dixieland. The heat should be a bigger problem than the cold, at least from where I sit.
